Restaurant Features
As I happened to pass by the exit 1 of Songjiang Nanjing MRT Station, I was drawn to the elegant exterior of【le beaujour】, a French restaurant. After researching online and discovering the reputable team behind the restaurant, I decided to make a reservation for dining. On weekdays, they offer à la carte ordering for meals.
The salad as an appetizer appeared ordinary, but upon eating it, I discovered marinated raw tuna and a thin crispy pastry, which, when eaten together with the vinaigrette, created a unique and delicious combination.
The signature French meat pie contained succulent duck foie gras and kelp broth jelly inside, offering a rich and satisfying experience with every bite. The chicken soup seemed light at first glance, but its flavor was intensely concentrated, resembling essence of chicken. Served with crispy chicken skin and pea dumplings, it provided a delightful texture.
The main course consisted of grilled fresh Alfonsino. The duck breast was tender and flavorful, complemented well by the accompanying duck spring roll and fig. For dessert, we chose from the dessert cart, and I highly recommend the chocolate tart and cream puffs, which brought a joyful ending to the meal.
Apart from the chicken soup, which I didn’t particularly enjoy, both the appetizers and main courses showcased the chef’s skill and attention to detail. The recommended red and white wines by the sommelier also paired well with the dishes. However, unexpectedly, there were many diners on Monday evening, and the tables were quite close to each other, allowing us to overhear neighboring conversations.
Other than that, the restaurant’s location is excellent, the interior decoration is beautiful, and the food is delicious, making it worth a try.
