Returning to【Bencotto】for dinner once again, I couldn’t help but feel the grandeur of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel from the moment I stepped in. The dining atmosphere maintains its consistent elegance, spaciousness, and comfort.
The restaurant offers both set menus and à la carte options. The items on the menu that are marked with a green chef’s hat symbol are the chef’s recommended dishes, and I’ve found that ordering those usually results in a satisfying meal.
Bencotto’s bread is worth mentioning as it is delicious. The servers bring a trolley to allow customers to choose their preferred olive oil and balsamic vinegar. I really enjoy the ritualistic feeling even when eating bread.
The chef’s salad with radicchio and figs is visually stunning. The radicchio has a slight bitterness, but when combined with the various ingredients, it becomes a refreshing flavor. The grilled eggplant was surprisingly enjoyable. It was tender and aromatic, with a rich tomato puree and a flavorful touch of whipped cheese foam.
When the Boston lobster fettuccine arrived, it immediately whetted my appetite. The lobster was perfectly cooked and had an excellent texture. It was accompanied by a rich seafood sauce and the pasta was generously coated in the sauce. I give the chef a perfect score for this dish!
The seared Berkshire pork chop was cooked using a low-temperature method, resulting in a tender texture. It was well-seasoned and delicious, but it was difficult to surpass the unbeatable lobster fettuccine.
For dessert, the Chocolate Symphony combines dark chocolate, dulce de leche, milk chocolate, and white chocolate. The cake looks appealing and has a smooth texture, but it is quite sweet. We also ordered a pot of tea, which was accompanied by truffle chocolates.
Overall, 【Bencotto】excels in terms of ambiance, food quality, and service. It’s a restaurant I would visiting whenever I have the opportunity.
