Restaurant Features

【Kakeru Sushi】is a Japanese restaurant that opened in 2021. It is located in a narrow alley near the Zhongshan District. The restaurant specializes in sushi and sashimi sets, with prices starting from 3,000 NTD. The restaurant space is not large, with counter seating that accommodates 12 guests. The ingredients used are mostly seasonal seafood imported from Japan. The head chef is focused and meticulous in preparing the dishes, showing great dedication.

The 16-course menu includes:

Aichi prefecture’s Madai Shirako / Ooma Koguro Maguro

Toyama grilled silver squid / Ankang fish liver cake

Nagasaki prefecture’s Tachiuo and Hiroshima clam

Aichi Prefecture’s Hirame / Shizuoka Prefecture’s Kinmedai

Shikaeshima Shiragarei / Toyama Shiyoyaki

Kumamoto Prefecture’s Kojika / Hokkaido Salmon Roe

Chūtoro / Daikon Mackerel / Hokkaido Red Sea Urchin

Tamagoyaki / Miso Soup / Dessert

Impressive highlights include the delicate and elegant Madai Shirako, the fatty and smoky Ooma Koguro Maguro, as well as the delicious sushi made with Kinmedai, Shiragarei, Shiyoyaki, Saba, and red sea urchin. Additionally, the Tamagoyaki has a fluffy and light texture, resembling a light cheesecake, and is also very tasty.

Overall, the restaurant offers fresh ingredients, and the head chef demonstrates great skill. During my visit, there were not many customers, so the atmosphere was comfortable. It is definitely worth a try.
